When Apple introduced its Iphone with Corning Gorilla Glass everyone is thrilled with its scratch resistance and its became huge success for Apple and Corning Inc.
Because in earlier days electronic devices and gadgets were used plastic screens which is easily scratched and people started using screen protector to avoid scratches which needs to spend from your pocket and its not 100% guarantee to protect your device from scratches at least minimum amount of pressure.

3rd generation of Gorilla Glass 3 was released in 2013 using Native Damage Resistance(NDR) technology which will provide 3 times better damage proof than Gorilla Glass 2.
Corning claims "1000 products, 1.5 billion devices and 33 major brands using Corning Gorilla Glass" world wide.
